My take on AI

Hey all, first of all, thanks for visiting the site, I've been working hard to create it and write the stories I post on it.

Now, I would like to be completely transparent with you all, but before that I want you to know that 100% of the quickies and grandes posted here come from my own ideas, in some cases I take inspiration from other authors or existing "lore" but when that's the case I mention it to give them credit. Other than that, the full idea, characters, story layout, etc. come from myself.

So, if all of them are my idea, what do I need AI for? well one of the use cases I have for it is to check on my writing, I usually write down the full draft for a story, which is basically the complete dialogs, situations, descriptions, etc. and I give it to it so it will check any spelling, grammar, phrasing, etc. basically a quick check which would point out errors with fixes and give out recommendations. Now since the topics I write about are considered "mature", I can't use mainstream tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. so I run a local model on Open LM Studio and work with that, but because this is local, sometimes a few typos might slip through and either I catch them and fix them when posting them here or they get to the final published version.

And the other use case, as you might have noticed, is the images. When I came across forums, blogs, Reddit, etc. where they create captions or stories, I noticed that many of their images were mostly like "bait" to call the attention, and I'm ok with that, but many times the image barely had any relation with the story. So when I decided to do my own, I initially had a few images I found here and there, the problem was that I had to adapt my stories to fit the image, and that didn't fit what I was aiming to deliver so I made use of my gaming PC and began testing with image generation. Since then whenever I come up with a story I most of the times leave a note on the drafts of how the main character looks, what it is doing, the pose, the camera angle, etc. I'm no photographer (my DSLR is just collecting dust) but I try to visualize the full composition of what I feel fits best a story. Unfortunately my hardware is not that powerful, so sometimes after several tries I have to do more simple poses or compositions, and yet I haven't had to adapt my stories to fit an image. And yes, I try to clean them up but the curse of the missing or extra fingers is very real in my hardware.

Anyway, just wanted to be transparent with you, I do use AI, but it does not write the stories, it just fixes my mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker, but all of my stories are drafted in English, and when they are "fixed" I translate them to Spanish.

And in case I don't see you again...
